Roy looks around the abandoned courtyard and the destruction was awesome indeed. Uprooted trees, cracked concrete, broken benches and a wrought iron fence so twisted and mangled it was almost unrecognizable.

…and in the middle of it all sat Edward Elric.

Chest still heaving with sweat dripping down his dirtied and blood streaked face. Marigold eye still wild from the energy it took on top of his injuries to wreak such havoc he looks like so wild cornered animal. When he finally see’s Roy standing there all of the adrenaline keeping him on his feet drains away and he drops to his knees.

Roy is in front of him cradling him to his chest in an instant.

“I…I’m sorry I shouldn’t have…it’s just that ...”

“Don’t worry about it Ed. Everybody goes a little crazy sometimes."

The two alchemists remained locked in an embrace until the sunset. Roy runs gloved fingers through matted blonde hair and says, “Come on love, let’s get you cleaned up so we can go see Al. He might be conscious by now.”
