Haven't had a cigarette in about 14 years... except a begged drag here and there and I cold happily smoke myself sick through a pack of Djarum Blacks any time. None of us is ever really truly free of our addictions...

Don't claw someone's eyes out... breathe... it'll pass... you're not breathing, breathe... :D

Thank you I think you have a very valid point my dear. Deny them doesn't make them "gone".

... but what if I wanna claw out some eyes

I know it's hard. You've had the past two weeks from hell. But you don't want to add more to that crazy list. You can do and survive without. *Hugs of strong will*

I feel your pain. Cigarettes are like my number one vice. I can't lie, I'm smoking again. You know how it is. You hate not doing it. Then you hate yourself for doing it. Its a genuine love hate relationship. Very little love. Lots and lots of hate. in a sick way that's why it feels so good, to me, to smoke when I am antagonized. But it's really bullshit you know. Its just this idea people have, a misdirected idea, about stress management. Somehow its like smoking takes us to another place for a minute, and we can feel some sense of relief. Its just imagination. Our heads fucking with us. Or maybe like biological spell. I'm sorry this is happening to you. It sucks.

It was my #1 vice for 17 years and I feel... lost? at times without it. It's like an old friend... a toxic friend but an old comfortable one all the same.

I'm just eating myself silly and hating that too... lose lose right now. Too much on my plate

*hugs you*

yeah it's fucking with us but what can we do its all in our heads.. in our brains... and our brains run the whole show... we are puppets ne?

Cravings last for about 15 minutes (according to the literature), so here is what you do. Distract yourself. I know it sounds weird, but it really does work. I am a smoker, but when I visit my mom I can't have any, so for the few days I'm there it is cold turkey. When the craving hits find something that you can immerse yourself in, read a book, watch an anime episode, read some (pron) fanfiction, call a friend, anything that will distract you from the craving. Usually you find that way more time has passed and the craving isn't really there anymore.

Now, something that might help you in general. Every night before bed (when I do it, you can do it when it suits you) get your music player and put on something you like. While it is playing you have two choices, either you can focus on the music and let your thoughts free flow without thinking of your troubles, or you can focus on a fantasy/dream/made up stuff and make your own story. This is my form of meditation. I'm WAY to ADHD to do normal meditation so I have found that this works best for me. I suggested it to a friend and she found that doing it helped level herself out at the end of the day so she wasn't so stressed the next day.

I hope something I rambled about helps...

It did help my dear. **HUGS* I made it even though the craving is still kinda gnawing at me it isn't as bad as it was when I wrote this entry.

Thank you for taking the time to *ramble* as you put it.

HUGS YOU HARD!
