COMPUTER ISSUES *cries*

Ok so last night around 3 am the PC decided it wanted to do updates so I let it do it's thing and went to bed.... 11:45 this morning it was still trying to finish O.o. After waiting for and hour and it was still on the same screen trying to finish something for google chrome (I think) I restarted my laptop. 

When it started back up it went downhill from there. First it would not recognize my wireless internet connection.

Then it wouldn't open certain programs like MS word *cries more* 

now it won't start unless its in safe mode....

I have tried several system restore points and no dice...anyone have any clue?  HELP!

binaryalchemist sounds like she really knows her stuff. Another good online scanner that I got from rebukes and use all the time is http://www.f-secure.com/en_US/security/security-lab/tools-and-services/online-scanner/index.html Provided you can get on the internet, that is. :(

Thanks Sis I am giving everything a try at this point. I am BEYOND frustrated and I am positive my daughter is more than tired of me bumming he laptop...even if she is too sweet to say so ^_^
