Outside, Roy could see figures moving about the Hughes household enjoying the party. As Roy approached the door his nerves got the best of him and he stopped at the steps.

This would be the first time since their breakup that he and Ed would be in the same social setting. Roy hoped Ed was more calm and on his way to getting over him.

As he reached for the doorknob Roy peers through the window as a handsome blonde man hands Ed a drink and kisses him on the cheek.

Even though Roy smiles something in him cringes too.

Maes opened the door and welcomed Roy with his usual boisterous charm. Once inside Roy handed Maes the bottle of wine he’d brought with him. Maes looked at the label and shook his head.

“You're the one that let him go Roy. Don’t forget that.”

“That was out of the blue.”

Maes looked back at the bottle, “I’m supposed to believe the type and brand of this wine was just coincidence?”

“I happen to like that myself and…”

“You can stop right there. Just don’t make trouble, okay? He looks happy.”

Roy nodded but swallowed hard, he could behave. Right?

I certainly hope not! :) Roy, it's never too late to correct a mistake...or to do a little snooping and find out the situation between Ed and Blondie here. ^_~ The kiss was on the cheek after all. Maybe it's not all that serious between them. Play your cards right and you just might get your Ed back!
