Ed opened the front door and his eyes fell on a sight for sore eyes. With his whole point for going outside forgotten he bent down and scooped up the reason for his excitement.

Rushing back in the living room he shouted, “Hey guys look who’s come back!”

“Is that Manny perched on your head?”

“The one and only, he was sitting on the front stoop just waiting for one of us to open the door.”

“I’d have never thought a gecko would be as domesticated as he is,” Russell said as he put down the book he was reading.

“Hey he’s been hanging around us so he has to be smart!” Ed exclaimed as he disappeared through the house.

“Where are you headed?” Roy asked. “I thought you were on your way to the music store?”

“That can wait. Manny and I need to catch a few crickets don’t we scaly butt?” Ed replied as he patted the reptile on his head and headed toward the back of the house.

“Should I even bring up the fact gecko’s catch their own food?”

“Nah,” Roy said as he pushed his glasses up on his nose and went back to his ship in a bottle project. “Why ruin his fun.”

With one last glance in the direction Ed had disappeared in Russell knew they’d lost him for the rest of the day.

LOL thank you. I should have actually introduced Manny before now... as it stands I'm going t have to do a series of flashback fics to get the whole story told. Manny helped them get the house they are currently in...

Had to do a double take at the gecko. Totally not expecting that! Somehow I'm not surprised that Ed would have such an oddball thing for a pet. :) Russell's line, "Should I even bring up the fact [geckos] catch their own food?", kinda creeped me out a bit. Does that mean they let it run loose in the house? If so, EW! >.< They would never have to worry about me coming over to visit! :)
