Maes was having dinner with them and all seemed well for once.
Jasper was in the midst of telling a highly embellished tale from their younger days when Hughes dropped the one bomb Roy had asked Jasper to keep a lid on.
Apparently he talked to the wrong person.
“Yeah, I thought the two of you would never leave your dorm-room,” Hughes said. “But I suppose sex trumps basketball any night.”
Roy could feel the hair on the back of his neck standing on end from the look Ed was giving him.
He couldn’t wait to fry Hughes for this.
