Sometimes Ed felt like he had two really tall kids.

Today was one of those days.

Soaked to the bone, cold and trembling was how Russell and Roy had returned yesterday. Ed had told them that kind of thing was fine to do in midsummer but this time of year it could make you sick and that’s precisely what happened.

When Russell sneezed as Roy blew his nose Ed resisted the urge to roll his eyes as he tossed a log on the fire. Grabbing another blanket to cover the shivering duo Ed thought, yup just two really tall kids.

I love the slight tone of resentment at the fact that they're tall, like at some level Ed somehow things they're tallness is on purpose.

I love Ed being Dad with them. So cute. Sigh.

I think we all have days when our partners need someone trailing after them. I don't remember signing up for that job. I'm surprised Ed made mention of their height even in his head since that just brings up the comparison.
