It wasn’t so much that Ed and Russell enjoyed the content of Roy’s old folklore. It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t their idea of entertainment either. What they really enjoyed was listening to Roy speak.
Because the man had a voice that could melt butter from across the room.
Each word perfectly articulated as he flipped the pages before nudging his reading glasses further up on his nose. That thick rich baritone sound that seemed to flow through the air and caress Ed and Russell’s skin as Roy spoke.
It was the melodic voice behind the tales that truly mattered.
