Whyyyyy? *cries* [In case you can't tell, I'm still holding a grudge against the movie, specifically the ending. Almost 5 years now and going strong. :)]
I always thought that because Roy cared about (i.e. loved) Ed so much that he wouldn't close the Gate. Roy would never do anything that would in any way deny Ed the opportunity to come home and in my little fangirl heart, that's just what he does, come home! :)
