It was midnight and the evening had been grand.

The wine was sweet and plentiful, the conversation engaging and light and the company striking and sensual.

Therefore when Roy suddenly found himself kissing said company with reckless abandon he didn’t fight it. It would have been crass, not to mention stupid, of him to state the obvious. The obvious being that before this instant they hadn’t so much as winked at each other.

No, Roy wouldn’t rock this boat for all the cens in Amestris.

Because Ed was as good with his tongue as Roy had imagined he would be.

When we arrived at the costume party Ed’s on my left dressed in red and black, wearing a set of horns and carrying a pitchfork. Russell was on my right wearing white and gold with a small set of wings on his back and a halo over his head. Everyone got a kick out of the obvious parallel of their costumes but were confused when it came to my tuxedo.

“What exactly are you supposed to be, Chief?” Breda asked finally giving up on guessing.

“One damn fine, lucky bastard… what else could I be?”

Breda laughed for an hour.
