Wolverine was out in the wooded area around the mansion honing his tracking skills when the wind rising around him caught his attention. Looking skyward he saw Ororo flying close to the tree tops overhead, she smiled and waved at him as she passed and it sent his mind not only elsewhere but else-when.
She was younger, her hair shorter and her bangs hung in ringlets around her face. It had to be her, the stark white silver hair, the striking blue eyes and the perfect mocha skin. It had to be her no one but Ororo had such traits. They were in a desert like region on a crowded street lined with people and vendors.
She was pulling him by the wrist through the crowd, her face alive with a bright smile as her eyes danced with excitement. When they stop he cups her face in his hands and…
…gone just like every other damn memory from his past.
Regardless, it was something, but was that something real. Was it planted there like so many others? Was it wishful thinking, clouded by recent feelings, sprinkled over a shattered past?
There was only one way to know and he couldn’t think of anything more pleasing to track down than a Windrider.
