They are so docile most of the time and so very sweet to him that Roy forgets how vicious they can be.

As he ducked a broken off piece of railing he wondered if the bar they were in was going to survive the fight.

As he took a sip of the free drink that started it all, Roy wondered if he’d ever admit to winking at the man that bought it.

Nah, why ruin the fun.

As Roy took very precise steps across his office Maes fought not to snicker.

When Roy lowered himself into his chair like an old lady Maes lost all semblance of composure and bent in half laughing.

“I should fry you since this is partially your fault.”

“Now, now I didn’t tell you to take on two lovers ten years your junior.”

“Yes but you did run into them at the Tavern and if I’m not mistaken they said you bought three rounds.”

“Four but who’s counting?”

If Maes was lucky, his beard would grow back in a week or so.
