I shouldn't watch you but I can't help myself.
It's torturous and if I were giving someone in my position advice, sitting across the room and staring at the object of your affections would not be the guidance given.
Regardless, here I am doing it despite how damaging it is. It stings when he walks into the room all golden hair and gleaming steel and your eyes light up as your jaw drops.
Yeah, that stings - it stings a lot.
After you're done drooling, you ask me to lunch and I accept.
I'm a glutton for punishment like that.

You don't notice me when you walk in and even though I'm not surprised it rubs me the wrong way. As always, your focus is on the door at the back of the office and the man behind it.
Figures that I would end up drowning in his shadow again.
You are perfect in ways I can't comprehend nor do I have words for. Beautiful in a breathtaking headstrong way that puts you right up there with a force of nature.
Once your leather-clad backside strolls past my desk I grab Breda for lunch.
I need out of this office.
++Ed++
I take a series of deep breaths before I open your door only to have you scold me for not knocking. Instead of cringing at your biting tone I scowl at you and mumble, whatever. You never look up as I speak and I don't know why I was nervous to begin with.
My existence is beneath your acknowledgement.
Everyone else has left for lunch and I had just worked up the nerve to ask you if you were hungry when Hughes breezes in behind me and beats me to it.
It's just as well. It's him you want anyway.

You drift in my office in the middle of Ed going on about something and ask me if I'm hungry. Of course I am, its well past noon. Do I want to spend an hour alone with you? Yes and no.
I'm not in the mood to play your best friend today. Not when looking in your eyes has already made my stomach flip-flop before I've had a chance to even answer you.
I force a smile to my face and nod in the affirmative. I'm lost to this no matter what I do, might as well not eat alone.
