I sniffed and he gave me a look.

Edward continued making me his infamous double-fudge hot chocolate in silence. I sneezed and he shook his head as he stirred in the marshmallows.

“You know it’s cold, wet and miserable outside.”

As the person that shoveled our winding driveway I was well aware of that and didn’t need a reminder.

“It could have waited until I got home.”

“I’m perfectly capable of shoveling our driveway, Edward.”

He didn’t comment. He kissed me on the forehead, handed me my cup and wrapped his arms around me.

It was worth every shivering moment.
